Voters are turning out in the Amarillo-area in big numbers to vote early in the July 14 runoff elections.
Across Potter and Randall Counties, 5,418 voters have cast-in person ballots through Sunday in both counties. The numbers are not expected to be fully accurate yet, however, as Randall County has not yet early voting numbers for July 2 or 5, meaning the total number is likely higher than the currently available number. The turnout looks strong as voters from both the Republican and Democratic parties head to the polls to pick a number of nominees for the November election.
In addition to in-person votes, over 3,100 mail-in ballots have already been cast between both counties.
Voters will continue to early vote through July 10. Election Day is July 14.
