Members of the Amarillo City Council will host a meeting by video conference on Tuesday in response to the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak.
On Tuesday, the new meeting setup will receive its first run by the Amarillo City Council, thanks to provisions made by Gov. Greg Abbott’s office to give some governing bodies flexibility in hosting meetings during the coronavirus outbreak. There will be no public access to the meeting, but the meeting is expected to be streamed online, based on comments at Tuesday’s meeting.
During the meeting, Council will consider voting to postpone the Amarillo Civic Center bond election to November and approval of an Amarillo Economic Development Corporation incentive package with Golden Spread Electric Cooperative, Inc. Several other items will also be voted on at once as part of the City Council’s consent agenda.
The meeting will begin at 1PM on Tuesday, March 31, 2020. For additional details, visit Amarillo.gov.
