Amarillo City Council members voted unanimously on Tuesday to extend a mayoral stay-at-home order.
The order, which has now been extended through April 30, encourages citizens to stay at home and sets guidelines on essential activities. Under the order, citizens are allowed to travel for groceries and healthcare supplies. Essential travel is also allowed under the order, which a City statement described as “generally, anything related to the health and safety of citizens.”
Health-related instructions, including social distancing guidelines, remain in place under this order in an effort to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
This order was originally enacted on March 30.
