Amarillo City Council to Vote on New Extension of Coronavirus Order

Members of the Amarillo City Council will vote Tuesday on whether to approve another extension of a mayoral order declaring a disaster in Amarillo.

According to an agenda for Tuesday, the Amarillo City Council will vote on continuing the disaster through an unconfirmed date in May. The agenda does not include a firm date through which the proposed continuation would be ordered, with the current continuation set to expire on April 30.

If approved, this continuation will be the third approved by the Amarillo City Council since its original issuance on March 18.

Also, on Tuesday, the Amarillo City Council will vote on approving a grant offer from the Federal Aviation Administration for $7.6 million to be used by the Rick Husband International Airport on operational expenses.

The meeting will be held at 1PM on Tuesday, April 28 and will be broadcast via Zoom.
