U.S. Senators have confirmed a Texas Congressman to an influential national intelligence role.
On Thursday, Senators voted 49-44 to confirm U.S. Rep. John Ratcliffe to the position of National Intelligence Director. Ratcliffe, a strong supporter of President Trump, was confirmed in a vote down party lines, with the support of both of Texas’ U.S. Senators, Ted Cruz and John Cornyn.
Ratcliffe, who represents the 4th Congressional District in Northeast Texas, will succeed Dan Coats in the role.
