Ohio U.S. Rep. Steve Stivers is backing Ronny Jackson in the July 14 Republican runoff for U.S. House District 13.
Jackson’s campaign announced the endorsement by Stivers in a social media post on Friday. The campaign highlighted the endorsement as a signing of building momentum.
Stivers has served in the U.S. House of Representatives for Ohio’s 15th Congressional District since 2011. Stivers also serves in the Ohio Army National Guard and holds the rank of Brigadier General.
Jackson, a retired U.S. Navy Rear Admiral and former White House physician, will face former lobbyist Josh Winegarner in the July Republican runoff for the seat. The winner of the runoff will face either Democrat Greg Sagan or Gus Trujillo and Libertarian Jack B. Westbrook in November.
