President Donald Trump was greeted by Republican lawmakers and politicians when he arrived in Dallas for a fundraiser on Thursday. The delegation included one candidate who is familiar to local voters in the Amarillo area.
Dr. Ronny Jackson, the former White House Physician who is currently seeking the Republican nomination for U.S. Congress in Texas’ 13th District, was among the politicians who greeted Trump in Dallas. Along with Jackson were Gov. Greg Abbott, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, and former Texas Tech University football coach Tommy Tuberville, who is currently seeking the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate in Alabama. The news was reported on Twitter via the Texas Tribune’s Patrick Svitek.
Jackson has been endorsed by Trump in his primary campaign against former lobbyist Josh Winegarner in hopes of succeeding retiring U.S. Rep. Mac Thornberry (R-Clarendon). Voters will decide this runoff on July 14 and the winner will advance to the November general election.
