An influential conservative organization is asking voters in Texas’ 13th Congressional District to send Ronny Jackson to Congress.

The American Conservative Union released an endorsement for Ronny Jackson last week as the former Physician to the President seeks the Republican nomination in the Texas Panhandle district. In a statement, ACU chairman Matt Schlapp said Jackson is the best candidate for the job due to his understanding of good governance and conservative solutions.

“Dr. Ronny Jackson is the representative that Texas’ 13th district needs in Washington,” Schlapp said. “Devoting much of his life to the service of our country as an Admiral and Physician to three Presidents, including President Trump. Dr. Ronny Jackson is a good friend and someone who always served President Trump and the Presidency with dedication. Ronny has the same passion and devotion required to be an effective member of Congress.”

Jackson is currently locked in a heated runoff for U.S. House District 13 against former lobbyist Josh Winegarner. The winner of the July 14 runoff will advance to meet the Democratic nominee and Libertarian Jack B. Westbrook in November.
