With the total number of active COVID-19 cases on the decline in Amarillo, the paid parking model is returning to downtown.

According to a statement from the City of Amarillo, paid parking will be back in full swing downtown beginning July 6. The paid parking model had been temporarily suspended due to COVID-19 concerns several weeks ago.

The fee for paid parking is $1 per hour in designated zones and can be paid through the ParkMobile app. Certain exemptions are available for those with certain license plates or placards, including handicap/disabled plates or disabled veteran plates.

For more information, call the Amarillo Municipal Court at 806-378-4224.
