City Council to Approve Contract for Paid Parking

Councilmembers will consider voting to institute paid parking in downtown Amarillo on Tuesday.

According to an agenda posted for the meeting, Councilmembers will consider approving a contract on Tuesday for mobile parking services. The contract will be through ParkMobile, LLC and the service provider will collect a $0.25 service charge with each parking transaction. In exchange, the company will train City staff to use the system and will provide free signage and a marketing campaign valued at around $30,000.

Those subject to the paid parking will be asked to make an online account to pay for parking through PayPal, bank withdrawal, or by credit card.

Also, on Tuesday, Councilmembers will consider voting to approve a $275,000 contract for office supplies. This contract will be awarded to Officewise/Navajo Office Products.

The Amarillo City Council will meet on Tuesday, August 14th in the Council Chambers of Amarillo City Hall (509 Southeast 7th Avenue). The meeting will begin at 5pm.
