The City of Amarillo’s Environmental Task Force will meet next week to discuss a few hot topics.

During the Task Force’s meeting next week, members will consider taking action on a recommendation for City staff to research a potential residential composting program in Amarillo. Members also plan to consider recommendations on researching potential waste diversion methods, publicizing the bulky item pickup program, publicizing daily water usage statistics and water conservation tips, potential updates to City ordinances for water conservation, and researching water conservation programs and incentives.

A public forum will also be held at the beginning of the meeting.

Task Force members will assemble for the meeting on Thursday, August 27, at noon. The meeting will be conducted over Zoom due to COVID-19 social distancing guidelines. Information on how to watch the meeting is available at Amarillo.gov.
