The Amarillo Convention & Visitor Council Board will meet next week.

According to the Board’s agenda, members will discuss a number of topics related to tourism. Perhaps the hottest issue on the agenda is an item prompting discussion over Hotel Occupancy Tax collection revenues. As we have previously reported, revenues are currently projected to be lower than expected for the fiscal year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Also during the meeting, Board members will discuss 2020-2021 fiscal year budget, reports from a number of committees, monthly financials, and more. A public forum will also be held at the start of the meeting.

Board members will assemble for the meeting at 8:30am on Wednesday, August 26. The meeting is set to be held at in the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce Board Room at 1000 South Polk, and will be broadcast over Zoom due to social distancing requirements.
