City of Amarillo Official Appointed to State Board

Gov. Greg Abbott has appointed a local government official to a state board.

According to the Texas Governor’s website, John “Johnny” Scholl, of Claude, has been appointed to the Texas Industrialized Building Code Council. Scholl is a Deputy Building Official for the City of Amarillo.

In addition to Scholl, Abbott also appointed Edwin “Scooter” Lofton and reappointed Suzanne Arnold, Janet Hoffman, Marcela Rhoads, and W.F. “Dubb” Smith to the board for terms to end on February 1, 2022. Otis Jones and Binoy Kurien have also been appointed to terms set to end on February 1, 2021.

The Texas Industrialized Building Code Council oversees the State of Texas’ program regulating industrialized housing and buildings.
