A top official at Amarillo National Bank has been appointed to a statewide board by Governor Greg Abbott.
On Thursday, the Governor's office announced the appointment of William "Wade" Porter to the Red River Authority Board Of Directors. Abbott made the appointment this week, along with two others from the Red River area.
Porter is the executive vice president, senior lender and board member at Amarillo National Bank. Porter is a member of the West Texas A&M Ag Advisory Board, former member of the Potter Randall Appraisal District Board of Directors and the Cal Farley’s Boys’ Ranch and Foundation. Porter holds degrees from Texas Tech University and Southern Methodist University.
In addition to Porter, Abbott also appointed Mike Sandefur and Joe L. Ward to the board. Sandefur is a real estate official in Texarkana and Ward is a rancher in Telephone.
The Red River Authority Board Of Directors exists to provide for the "control, conservation and development of the watershed and water of the Red River and its Texas tributaries."
All three terms will last through 2023.
