The first two days of early voting in Amarillo were low activity affairs, with fewer than 800 voters turning out between both days.
According to numbers released by both counties, 784 voters turned out between both counties during the first two days of early voting. 517 voters turned out on the first two days of early voting in Randall County, while 267 voters turned out on in Potter County. In addition, 1,389 mail-in ballots have been cast between both counties.
This election has several items of interest on the ballot for Texas voters, including eight proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution, covering issues ranging from charitable raffles to religious freedom. In addition, voters in Amarillo will be voting on whether to ratify a proposed 24 percent tax increase.
Voters have until Friday, October 29 to cast ballots early. Election Day is Tuesday, November 2.
