Eight Candidates Vying for Seats on Amarillo College Board of Regents

Eight candidates have stepped up to seek seats on the Amarillo College Board of Regents this year.

According to the Amarillo College President’s office, eight candidates — including two incumbents — filed to seek seats through the deadline on Friday. Incumbent Patrick Miller opted not to seek re-election this year, creating at least one seat that will be up for grabs in this election.

The list of candidates includes both familiar names and political newcomers, as a former chairman of the Amarillo College Board of Regents and a former Amarillo ISD trustee have stepped up to run.

The full list of candidates is as follows:

  • Anette Carlisle, incumbent

  • Dan Henke, incumbent

  • Adrian Meander

  • Don Nicholson

  • Edwin Greiner

  • Peggy Carter Thomas

  • Brian Sicher

  • John Betancourt

Election Day is May 1.
