Amarillo Pioneer Forum Moved to April 7

The Amarillo Pioneer’s 2021 local candidate forum will now take place on Wednesday, April 7.

Due to scheduling conflicts with another local forum, the Amarillo Pioneer forum has been moved to April 7 to allow voters as many opportunities as possible to hear from the candidates. Candidates invited will include those running for Amarillo Mayor, City Council, Amarillo College Board, Amarillo ISD and Canyon ISD Boards, and Canyon City Commission.

“We are excited to give voters yet another opportunity to hear from the candidates,” Amarillo Pioneer editor Thomas Warren said. “It is crucial that voters know the candidates well in this election, and we believe our forum will give voters the opportunity to do just that.”

Attorney Len Walker and Odessa Headlines editor Matt Stringer will serve as moderators for the evening.

The forum will begin at 7pm at the VFW Post 1475 (1401 SW 8th) on April 7. In addition to the in-person forum, the event will also be live streamed and will be socially distanced at the venue.

For more information, candidates and attendees can email amarillopioneer@gmail.com.
