The Texas Department of Transportation has named Zachary Mayer as the new area engineer for TxDOT’s Pampa Area Office, effective August 9.
According to TxDOT, Mayer is a native of Spring Branch and a graduate of Texas Tech University. Mayer has worked with TxDOT since 2013, when he was a Lubbock District Brownfield Area Office intern. In 2015, he accepted a full-time position as an engineering assistant in the Amarillo District and participated in the engineering rotation program prior to being licensed. After earning his license, Mayer became the design team lead in 2018 and served as the Amarillo District’s bridge engineer.
Mayer has served as the Pampa Assistant Area Engineer since February. At the Pampa Area Office, Mayer has worked in Carson, Gray, Hemphill, Lipscomb, and Ochiltree counties.
When not at work, Mayer lives with his corgi, Max, and is a resident of Amarillo.
