The challengers are gaining on Gov. Greg Abbott, according to a new poll released this week.
According to a poll from Paradigm Partners, Abbott is in second place in the Republican race for Governor with 33 percent of support, behind former Texas Republican Chairman Allen West at 38 percent. Trailing West and Abbott are activist Rick Perry at 12 percent, former State Sen. Don Huffines at 5 percent and comedian Chad Prather at 3 percent. All other candidates in the race are below 1 percent of the vote.
The poll was conducted on behalf of the Allen West campaign, according the poll’s methodology. The poll also had a 2.54 percent margin of error.
