Former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley is officially on the Texas Republican presidential primary ballot.
Haley, a former ambassador and governor of South Carolina, filed for the ballot on Tuesday, according to filing information from the Republican Party of Texas. The filing makes Haley, who is widely viewed as the third highest-polling contender in the field, the fourth candidate to file for the Texas primary ballot.
According to the latest Texas primary poll, Haley currently sits in third place in a hypothetical election matchup. Haley won 6 percent in the poll, trailing former President Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who each received 58 percent and 14 percent, respectively.
In addition to Haley, Trump, DeSantis, and Dallas businessman Ryan L. Binkley have also filed for the Texas ballot.
The primary election is scheduled for March 5, 2024.
