The City of Amarillo is encouraging the public to attend a meet-and-greet with leaders from the City Manager’s Office.

The meet-and-greet will feature Mayor Cole Stanley, Interim City Manager Andrew Freeman, Interim Deputy City Manager Laura Storrs, Assistant City Managers Floyd Hartman and Rich Gagnon, and Managing Director Donny Hooper.

According to the city, attendees will “have the chance to meet the administrative team, who work closely with the City Council to put their vision into action and oversee daily operations.”

The city recently began the process of searching for a new long-term city manager. During a meeting of Amarillo City Council earlier this month, the council appointed a subcommittee including Councilman Place 2 Don Tipps and Councilman Place 4 Les Simpson to investigate the first steps in the process, with plans to report back in December or January. The need to search for a new city manager began after the council approved a separation agreement with Jared Miller, who had served as City Manager since 2017, earlier this year.

The hour-long event will take place on Wednesday, December 6th at 5:30 p.m. in the Civic Center Hospitality Room. More information can be found on the city’s event page at this link.
