Jason Foglesong, an Amarillo high school teacher and local Republican activist, has filed to run for one of three seats on the Amarillo College Board of Regents in the upcoming May election.

Foglesong confirmed today that he filed to run for the AC Board of Regents, ensuring that voters will have a say on who will be elected to the board for the next six years. As of the last update from Amarillo College, incumbents Jay L. Barrett and Michele Fortunato had both filed for the ballot, along with Mike Yazbek, a self-employed knife sharpener.

Currently, Foglesong serves as the secretary of the Potter County Republican Party and was previously a candidate for Amarillo City Council in 2021, winning 29 percent of the vote against incumbent Freda Powell.

Election Day is May 6.
