The four candidates running for the 108th District Court bench all filed their first campaign finance reports this week, giving voters a better idea of who is leading the funding pack.

According to reports filed with the Texas Ethics Commission, the candidates for the 108th District Court raised the following amounts during the period running from July 1, 2023, through December 31, 2023:

  • Samuel Brown Silverman — $3,895 in contributions; $15,000 in loans

  • Joe Marr Wilson — $1,500 in contributions

  • Tim Pirtle — $500 in contributions; $6,000 in loans

  • Pamela Sirmon — $135 in contributions; $10,000 in loans

Among the candidates, Sirmon had the most money on hand as of the end of the reporting period, with $9,979 in her campaign account. The former district court judge was followed in the cash-on-hand race by Silverman, who reported $3,266 on-hand. Wilson and Pirtle both reported no funds on-hand.

The names of specific contributors were unavailable, as of press time, due to an error with the Texas Ethics Commission website.

Voters will decide this primary election on March 5. Any runoff, if necessary, will be held in May.
