Texas Democrats Split on Trump Inauguration

Three Texas Congressional representatives will be boycotting the inauguration of President-elect Donald J. Trump, while three others will be attending.

Joaquin Castro, Lloyd Doggett, and Al Green all told the Texas Tribune today that they will not be attending Trump's inauguration. The three representatives will be joining several other representatives in their intention to boycott Trump's inauguration.

Castro told the Texas Tribune that while he will not be attending the inauguration, he will be greeting constituents who are in Washington for the inauguration. The Tribune is also reporting that Julian Castro, brother of Representative Castro, will not be attending the inauguration either. Julian Castro currently serves as U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, under President Barack Obama.

While Castro, Doggett, and Green, will not attending the inauguration, at least three Texas Democrats have stated their intention to attend. Representatives Henry Cuellar, Vicente Gonzalez, and Gene Green will all be attending the inauguration.
