Board of Education to Discuss Evolution Language

The Texas Board of Education heard from a variety of Texans today, regarding evolution standards in Texas classrooms, according to the Texas Tribune.

The debate stems from a challenge over language that critics say challenges evolution. Some speakers spoke in favor of keeping the language while others did not.

Opponents of the standards say that high school students are not yet ready to question evolution. Supporters of the language argue the contrary.

Board members will discuss the issues in more detail, on Wednesday. A final vote will be held in April.
