Two Arrests Made in Benton Park Shooting

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with a recent shooting of a 17-year-old in Benton Park.

APD reported over the weekend that Christopher Cortez, 18, and Exavier Monteze Steward, 18, were arrested in connection with the shooting of a 17-year-old. The two suspects are accused of being involved in the robbery and shooting of the 17-year-old victim in Benton Park on October 10th.

Detectives had warrants issued for both suspects out of Potter County for Aggravated Robbery and Aggravated Assault. Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 3700 block of I-40 in which Cortez was a passenger. Cortez was taken into custody and Steward was taken into custody in the 3900 block of Westlawn by APD liaison officers.
