Some new golf carts will soon be appearing at Ross Rogers Golf Complex.
Last night, the Amarillo City Council approved the purchase of 35 Blue General golf carts and 2 Red Marshall golf carts from Club Car USA for the Ross Rogers Golf Complex. The purchase was made to replace the golf carts currently at the facility.
According to City staff, the purchase allowed for uniformity among its golf cart fleet and for consistencies in training.
In the end the City Council approved spending $110,904.36 for the new golf carts. The purchase was awarded to Club Car North Texas Branch.
Fleet services was the department requesting the purchase through its budget. Following the purchase, fleet services still has $931,371 left in its account.
Also during the Council's meeting on Tuesday, the City Council approved lowering the speed limit on Soncy. The Council also voted to approve the issuance of general obligation bonds to cover a portion of the costs from the two propositions that were approved by voters in the November 8th election.
