City Council to Purchase Golf Gear

The Amarillo City Council is considering approving a deal to purchase golf gear for Amarillo golf courses.

According to an agenda posted for Tuesday's meeting of the Amarillo City Council, councilmembers will consider approving a deal to purchase golf equipment for Ross Rogers Golf Complex and Comanche Trail Golf Complex. The deal is for the purchase of FootJoy, Pinnacle and Titleist golf gear that will be sold in the pro shops of the golf courses. Under the deal, the City will pay $200,000 annually to the Acushnet Company for the gear. Golf courses are expected to see an estimated 20 percent net profit on the gear once it is sold in the store.

This contract is an annual contract that is approved by the Amarillo City Council.

Also on Tuesday night, the City Council will consider approving wastewater improvements at the golf courses and electing an officer for the alcoholic beverage licenses at the courses.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 19th at Amarillo City Hall (509 Southeast 7th Avenue). The meeting will begin at 5pm.
