Greg Sagan has announced his intention to challenge Mac Thornberry for the 13th Congressional District representative seat in 2018.

Sagan, a Vietnam veteran, will be running as a Democrat in the 2018 election. Sagan is planning to throw his hat into the ring due to his disappointment with the actions of President Donald Trump.

Sagan, thus far, is the only announced challenger to Congressman Thornberry in 2018. In 2016, Thornberry was re-elected with 90 percent of the vote over Libertarian Calvin DeWeese and Green Party candidate H.F. "Rusty" Tomlinson.

Thornberry's last Democratic challenger was Mike Minter in 2014. Minter pulled in 13 percent to Thornberry's 84 percent.
