Governor Greg Abbott and country music legend George Strait visited victims of Hurricane Harvey today in Rockport.
Abbott and Strait traveled to Rockport today to visit with those who have been affected by Hurricane Harvey. The two men visited the area and talked to residents about the flooding and the plans to rebuild the flood-damaged areas.
The move comes following Abbott's recent appointment of Texas A&M University chancellor John Sharp as chairman of the Commission to Rebuild Texas. Abbott and Sharp have been travelling the state discussing rebuilding efforts and the state's plans to resolve issues left by the flooding.
Strait also recently held a benefit concert in for victims of Hurricane Harvey. Strait was joined on-stage by Miranda Lambert, Lyle Lovett, Robert Earl Keen and Chris Stapleton for the benefit show in San Antonio.
During the trip, the pair also met with leaders in the cities affected by Hurricane Harvey.
