Hartman to Become New Assistant City Manager

Floyd Hartman has been named the next assistant city manager for the City of Amarillo.

Hartman, who currently serves as director of Capital Projects and Development Engineering, was named the next assistant city manager by city manager Jared Miller. Hartman is taking the spot vacated by Bob Cowell, who left Amarillo to serve as city manager for Roanoke, Virginia.

In announcing the pick of Hartman, Miller said that Hartman has the right skills needed to make the role successful in the City of Amarillo leadership structure.

“Floyd is solutions oriented, which is exactly the kind of person we need in this assistant city manager position,” says Miller. “He has a proven track record that I believe will be a tremendous asset to City leadership.”

Before coming to Amarillo, Hartman served with the City of Canyon. Hartman holds a master’s degree in public administration and Bachelor of Science and Business Administration from Wayland Baptist University. He is also a member of the Panhandle Water Planning Group, American Water Works Association, and Texas Water Utilities Association.
