AISD Bonds to be Sold Locally in February

Residents of the Amarillo Independent School District will likely have a chance to purchase bonds in February.

According to information released by AISD, residents of the Amarillo Independent School District will likely have a chance to purchase bonds issued by the district on week of February 5th. AISD voters approved issuing $100 million worth of the bonds in November and local buyers will likely have a chance to purchase in early February of 2018.

The bonds will be sold in two methods. In the first method, there will be a competitive sale on January 16th.  AISD will then award the winning bidder that provides the lowest interest rate to the District the bonds that it may issue to investors according to its own methods.

In the second method, a designated underwriter of the bonds will be required to give priority to orders from local residents of Amarillo ISD over any and all other orders.

If you are interested in purchasing AISD bonds, please email Pati Buchenau at pati.buchenau@amaisd.org with your contact information and a representative will provide further instructions on who you or your financial consultant will need to contact, according to AISD.
