City Council Considering Tax Break for Downtown Restaurant

Members of the Amarillo City Council are considering approving a tax incentive package for a site that is the future home of a downtown restaurant.

According to an agenda posted for Tuesday's meeting of the Amarillo City Council, Councilmembers will consider approving a Center City Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone deal for Dubs Development, LLC. Dubs Development, LLC is seeking a 90 percent tax rebate with an annual cap of $25,000 over a 10-year period, to assist with "increased unexpected construction costs." The site which will benefit, if approved, is located at 621 S. Polk Street.

William Ware, of Amarillo National Bank, is listed as the manager for the company. As previously reported the site in downtown Amarillo is currently on track to be a new restaurant.

The City Council will consider the agreement during its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday night. The meeting will begin at 5pm in the Council Chambers of Amarillo City Hall (509 Southeast 7th Avenue).
