Amarillo Movie Theater to Host Academy Award Festivals

A local movie theater is screening each of the films nominated for Best Picture ahead of the 90th Academy Awards.

Beginning on February 23rd, the UA Amarillo Star Stadium theater in Amarillo will be screening films nominated for Best Picture at the 90th Academy Awards. Three festivals will be held: Friday, February 23rd through Sunday, February 27th; Monday, February 26th through Wednesday, February 28th; and Thursday, March 1st through Sunday, March 4th.

At the 90th Academy Awards, nine films were nominated by members as deserving of Best Picture. Every film nominated will be screen at least once. Nominated films include: "Call Me By Your Name," "Darkest Hour," "Dunkirk," "Get Out," "Lady Bird," "Phantom Thread," "The Post," "The Shape of Water" and "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri."

The Academy Awards will be held on March 4th.
