Amarillo's Cinemark Hollywood 16 movie theater will be hosting a screening of the classic 1948 film "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre" this month.
On January 14th and January 16th, the movie theater will be hosting showings of "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre." The special showings of the film are being organized by Fathom Events to commemorate the film's 70th anniversary.
According to Internet Movie Database, "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre" stars Humphrey Bogart, Walter Huston and Tim Holt, and revolves around two Americans, seeking work in Mexico, who convince a prospector to help them mine for gold in the Sierra Madre Mountains.
At the time of the films release, it was critically acclaimed. "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre" won Academy Awards for Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Best Director and Best Screenplay at the 1949 Academy Awards. The film also was nominated for Best Picture, but eventually lost to Laurence Olivier for "Hamlet."
Showings of the films will take place on January 14th and January 16th.
