New Phone Scam Targeting Amarillo Residents

Another phone scam is targeting Amarillo residents.

According to the Potter County Sheriff’s Office, authorities are aware of a brand new phone scam hitting the area. A caller is reaching out to Potter County residents, identifying himself at “Blair Robert.” The caller claims to be a Potter County Compliance Location Officer.

Authorities are unsure of the caller’s motive, as the person receiving the call challenged the caller on his identity. The caller was listed from a private number, but gave a callback number of (855) 218-3750. The call was disconnected as the person challenged the caller. The person called the (855) number and was told the number belonged to an unnamed law firm.

It is unclear whether this scam is financially motivated.
