Quinnipiac University’s latest poll from the Lone Star State has some good news for Republicans.
According to a new poll released on Thursday, Senator Ted Cruz, a Republican, is leading Democrat Beto O’Rourke ahead of the November election, 54 percent to 45 percent. Cruz held a nine point lead over O’Rourke in a poll from Qunnipiac last month, as well.
Meanwhile, in the race for governor, incumbent Republican Greg Abbott is the solid favorite in the new poll. Abbott leads Democrat Lupe Valdez, 58 percent to 38 percent, giving him a twenty point margin.
Libertarians Neal Dikeman, candidate for the U.S. Senate, and Mark Tippetts, candidate for governor, were not included in the survey.
Voters will decide both of these races in November.
