A 4-year-old female died and several others were injured during a wreck on Amarillo Boulevard this past weekend.
According to the Amarillo Police Department, officers observed a motor vehicle collision on Saturday night in the area of the Amarillo Boulevard East and Grant Street intersection. A 2008 Jeep Wrangler was southbound and Grand and rolled through a stop sign, officers say. The Jeep was struck by a 2007 Lexus IS250, which had been eastbound on East Amarillo Boulevard.
Officers say a 4-year-old female in the Jeep died at the scene as a result of injuries received during the crash. The driver of the Jeep, a 20-year-old female, was uninjured. A 5-year-old male passenger in the Jeep was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Additionally, a 17-year old passenger was sent to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries and a 24-year-old passenger in the Jeep was uninjured. The driver of the Lexus, a 20-year-old male, was uninjured.
Judge Debbie Horn has ordered an autopsy. This incident was under investigation, at the time of this information’s release.
