Amarillo City Councilmembers will consider signing off on a large Amarillo Economic Development Corporation deal next week.
On Tuesday, the Amarillo City Council will vote on approving a $1.25 million grant deal to Asset Protection Unit, lnc. The deal is projected to create 125 new jobs over five years, according to information from City staff. This deal was recently approved by the Amarillo EDC Board of Directors, and cannot be completed until approval is given by the City Council.
Also, on Tuesday, Councilmembers will consider approving a TIRZ agreement with developer DHY Enterprises for a property at 300 Southwest 1Oth Avenue. If approved, Councilmembers will sign off on a $35,000 reimbursable grant at project completion and 70 percent tax rebate over a 1O-year period for the developer.
The Amarillo City Council will meet on Tuesday, December 4th in the Council Chambers of Amarillo City Hall (509 Southeast 7th Avenue). The meeting will begin at 1PM, following a noon public comment session.
