Amarillo City Councilmembers will discuss Amarillo's homeless population and the downtown baseball stadium during a meeting on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, February 13th, members of the Amarillo City Council will discuss the homeless population count in Amarillo during a work session. The City Council plans to discuss Amarillo's homeless population as one of the first such public discussions by the governmental body in 2018. Following the discussion regarding the homeless population, the City Council will then discuss the construction of the downtown baseball stadium and the Construction Manager at Risk process.
As we previously reported, officials broke ground on the stadium's site last week ahead of the start of construction. The construction is expected to be completed by April of 2019.
During the regular meeting of the City Council, Councilmembers will approve the replacement of the electronic sign outside of the Amarillo Civic Center Complex. Councilmembers will also consider spending over $500,000 worth of improvements in the Gene Howe Neighborhood.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 13th at Amarillo City Hall (509 Southeast 7th Avenue). A work session will be held at 4:00pm, with the regular meeting beginning at 5pm.
