A speaker at West Texas A&M University will focus on first-generation students in her lecture later this month.

Dr. Liza Talusan, a life and leadership coach, will discuss first-generation college students in her lecture at WTAMU next week. The lecture, “Reaffirming Commitment: Using a Coaching-Based Model to Support First-Generation College Student Success,” will be held at 6pm on Tuesday, March 27 in the Jack B. Kelley Student Center, Legacy Hall at West Texas A&M University. The presentation is free and open to the public.

In the lecture, Talusan will examine the success and behavior of first-generation students, drawing upon her 20 years of experience. She will also focus on her research regarding issues of access and equity, including identity, race, socialization and financial-aid policies.
