A former member of President Donald Trump's administration is reportedly in the running to become the next chancellor of the University of Texas system.
Rex Tillerson, the former U.S. Secretary of State under President Trump, is in the running for the job, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday. A Wichita Falls native, Tillerson would replace outgoing chancellor Bill McRaven if he is selected for the spot.
Tillerson is the former chief executive officer of the ExxonMobil corporation. He was named as Secretary of State in 2017 and served in the role until leaving the post this year.
It is unclear whether Tillerson would choose to take on the role, if he is offered the job.
