An applicant is seeking approval from a municipal board to demolish a home in a historic Amarillo neighborhood.
According to an agenda posted to Amarillo.gov, the Amarillo Landmarks and Historic Board will meet next week to decide the demolition request for a home at 2810 South Ong. According to the agenda, applicant Jim Austin is asking the board to allow approval to allow the demolition.
In the agenda, an attached memo to board members indicates that the home is not on any historic surveys and does not need approval for demolition through the board. An approval for demolition, according to the agenda, can come from Building Safety. It was also noted that his instance was "odd," as the home is located in the historic Wolflin neighborhood of Amarillo.
The Board will vote on this and a minutes approval during their meeting on Monday, May 21st. The meeting will begin at 5:30pm in Room 203 of the Simms Municipal Building (808 S. Buchanan).
