Weaver Wins Potter County Court at Law #1 Seat

Walt Weaver was declared the unofficial winner on Tuesday night in the race for Potter County Court at Law #1.

Weaver, an Amarillo attorney, won 59 percent of the vote on Tuesday night, topping opponent Len Walker's 41 percent. Weaver won in totals for primary election day and early voting, while Walker picked up the win among mail-in voters, 53 percent to 47 percent.

Weaver did not issue a statement immediately after the election. The current voting results are unofficial and will be canvassed at another time. Weaver is expected to run unopposed in November and replace the retiring Judge W.F. "Corky" Roberts.
