City Council to Order Street Closures for Festival

The Amarillo City Council will consider voting next week to order street closures for the upcoming Route 66 Celebration in downtown Amarillo.

According to an agenda posted to Amarillo.gov, the Amarillo City Council will consider voting Tuesday to approve the closures for the festival. The festival closures, if approved, will last from June 30, 2018 at 6:00am to July 1, 2018 at 7:00am. The closures will be ordered from Highway 87 on South Fillmore Street from 5th Avenue to 8th Avenue, and Highway 287 on South Taylor from 5th Avenue to 8th Avenue.

Also, on Tuesday, Councilmembers will consider approving the purchase of video boards for the Amarillo Civic Center Complex and an agreement for emergency radio services with Amarillo Independent School District.

The Amarillo City Council will meet on Tuesday, May 29th in the Council Chambers of Amarillo City Hall (509 Southeast 7th Avenue). The meeting will begin at 5pm.
