A gas leak in downtown Amarillo caused one local community center and college to be evacuated.
According to information from the Amarillo Fire Department, officials evacuated the Amarillo College downtown campus and the Amarillo Senior Citizens Center on Thursday after a gas leak was discovered. No other evacuations were anticipated in information from AFD.
Traffic was also affected by the leak. Drivers reported closures up and down Tyler Street in the afternoon of Thursday.
As of 4pm, the buildings were cleared for reentry.
