Amarillo Boulevard Motel Fire Causes Evacuations

A fire at a motel on Amarillo Boulevard caused evacuations on Sunday morning.

According to the Amarillo Fire Department, crews were dispatched to the report of a possible structure fire at the Townhouse Motel (112 West Amarillo Boulevard) at 6:33am on Sunday morning. When crews arrived, they found heavy fire coming from a room of the motel. Occupants in adjacent rooms were evacuated by fire personnel and the fire was called under control shortly thereafter.

The Amarillo Fire Marshal's Office has ruled the cause of the fire as undetermined. Damages are estimated at $30,000. No injuries were reported.
