Panhandle Salvage Expected to Close

One local store may soon be closing its doors.

On Tuesday, an employee at Panhandle Salvage told the Amarillo Pioneer that the store is expected to close soon. The Facebook page for the store, which at one time advertised discounts on everything from milk to potatoes, appeared to be disabled.

Banners were also displayed outside of the store advertising discounts and showing information about the “Store Closing.” There is no word yet on who will be filling the space that currently houses Panhandle Salvage, although information from employees indicated Fiesta Foods may become a possible replacement. Fiesta Foods advertised the opening of a second Amarillo location during the Tri-State Fair this year, although no location was listed.

As this is a late breaking story, our request for comment to Fiesta Foods has not yet been returned. This article will be updated as new information becomes available.
