City Council to Spend $170k on Lights and Posts for Downtown Next Week

A high-dollar contract may soon bring new light poles downtown.

On Tuesday, the Amarillo City Council will vote to approve the expenditure of nearly $170,000 on lights and posts for downtown projects. The $168,837.60 contract will be for unnamed “downtown projects” and will provide lights and poles. The contract will be awarded to Techline, lnc., if approved.

Also, on Tuesday, Councilmembers will consider approving supplemental expenditures for Texas Department of Transportation mowing projects. City Councilmembers are proposing spending $76,284 for three TxDOT mowings of highway right-of-ways.

Councilmembers will meet on Tuesday, October 2nd in the Council Chambers of Amarillo City Hall (509 Southeast 7th Avenue). The meeting will begin at 1PM, following a public comment session at noon.
