Amarillo Independent School District voters have some major decisions to make this May, but as of today, nobody is running for the four seats on the ballot this year.
On Wednesday, the Amarillo ISD business office confirmed no candidates have filed applications to run for the Board of Trustees this May. Three seats will be up for grabs for full four year terms, while another seat will offer a two year unexpired term to prospective candidates.
Incumbents Jim Austin, John Betancourt, and F. Scott Flow will be up for re-election to the full terms. Meanwhile, attorney Robin R. Malone is serving out the second year of former trustee James Allen’s four year term. The final two years of the term will be up for election in the unexpired term contest.
Filing for the Board ends on February 15th.
